Road Trip Vignettes

Road Trip Vignettes – Windmills on the road!

Written by Poorna & Brinda
A Road trip is always like this. You suddenly notice something interesting and get down. It can be anything. A lovely landscape or a small water fall or life in rural india. It gives you the freedom to enjoy the journey at your own pace. Many a time, we have noticed that journeys are more interesting than the actual destination itself. We call these as “memorable moments” on the road. When these vignettes are captured on the lens, they remain cherished memories forever.
When you go on a road trip in South India, you will come across wind mills at many places. Since these machines occupy vantage points, it is always a beautiful sight.

We were driving from Madurai to Kanyakumari during one of our road trip. As we were approaching Nagerkoil, we were greeted by a huge wind farm. The backdrop of mountains made the setting even more charming. There is one point on the highway where you feel as if the windmills are dot on the road. We stopped in the middle of the road – this highway is not that crowded – and clicked when there was no vehicle on the road. It was a fascinating sight.

When you drive to Kanyakumari from Madurai next time, look for this spot. You will never miss this big wind farm. Watch out for this spot where you can feel as if the windmill is on the road. The bend in the road will give you that illusion. But it is nice experience. We don’t want to give out more. Drive and experience it yourself!

We travel together. We caught the travel bug 20 years back. On our honey moon, we traveled over the sea, in the train, by bus and in an aircraft! Our adventures probably started in that year. It continues, ever since.
