Shivagange | Nandi & Monsoon Sky!

Written by Poorna & Brinda

We just happened to drive down to Shivagange hill near Tumkur very early in the morning.

“Shivagange betta” as it is locally known, is not new having been there many times since childhood. The idea was to go for a quick drive in the rain. The cloudy sky and drizzle was a welcome sign for the drive.

Hitting the nice road, we reached the place within an hour. The advantage of driving early in the morning when traffic is less. There was hardly anyone in the temple when we reached. We parked the car and climbed the hill. We did not want to climb till summit as we had to be back quickly.

We climbed up to the place where the Nandi statue is there. We clicked this picture and it looked lovely to get the frame of Nandi, Mantapa and the sky with the rocky hill in background.

Postscript – Shivagange hill is a lovely place for a day picnic. For more details – with a detailed itinerary and route – check out this post on this blog

We are Brinda and Poorna from Bengaluru, the “Silicon city” or “Garden city” of India.

We travel together. We caught the travel bug 20 years back. On our honey moon, we traveled over the sea, in the train, by bus and in an aircraft! Our adventures probably started in that year. It continues, ever since.
