Wish you all a very happy New Year! New year means new travel experiences! We thought of listing 12 exciting travel experiences you can have in next 12 months in 2019 in India.  This is just a small list we thought of sharing with you.

1 January – Balloon festival in Arakku Valley, Pongal and Balloon festival in Pollachi

January is the month of Pongal. The month of Sankranti. It is also the month to visit Arakku valley near Vishakhapatnam for balloon festival.

During the months of December and January the hills of Arakku will be washed in Yellow! It is the time for honey collection in the valley! It is also the month when the Andhra Pradesh tourism conducts its annual “ Balloon Festival”. You get a chance to experience the beautiful valley from the sky!

The other lovely option is to experience the festive fervour of Pongal in Tamil Nadu. Go to rural Tamil Nadu and experience it. Pollachi and surroundings are great choices!

2) February – Valentine’s day in Hills Kumbh Mela in Allahabad

February is the month for Valentines and this year February also happens to be Kumbh Mela month. You have an option to enjoy the quietude of hills or experience the colors and crowds of Kumbh Mela in Allahabad!

3) March – Goa Carnival or Holi in Vrindavan

Spoilt for choices in March! Whether you want to get high on Bhang in Vrindavan or on Beer in Goa, the choice is yours! Both are fun!

4) April – Tulip garden in Srinagar & Lovely Gulmarg

Yes. April and spring are the best time to be in Kashmir. It is not biting cold. The peaks still have snow. The meadows are at their best. Then the piece de resistance! The Tulip Garden! Keep a watch for the dates when the garden opens for public and be there! It is a soothing and colorful experience. Then you have Gulmarg white washed and gorgeous in snow!!

5) May – Tiger safaris or Treks in Himalayas

The best time to see tigers in India are in summer months. May is a good time to be there braving the heat. If you are a mountain person, then trek in Himalayas is a great option.

8) August – Monsoon experience/Onam

You should be in Kerala in monsoon to experience their major festival – Onam. Be a part of the cheering crowds cheering for their teams in Snake boat race. Experience The sumptuous Onam Sadiya.

If Onam is for Kerala and Pongal is for Tamil Nadu, Ganesh Chaturti is for Maharashtra. The eight-day festivities have to be experienced by being in cities of Bombay and Pune!!

12) December – Hornbill festival/Christmas

The Yuletide season! It is also the month to experience the unique “ Hornbill Festival” in Nagaland.

The annual Hornbill Festival will be held for ten days, 1st – 10th December. It draws all the tribes and sub-tribes of Nagaland to the foothills below the lofty spurs of towering Mount Japfü wherin lies Naga Heritage Village, Kisama – the venue of hte Festival. It plays host to a weeklong medley of cultural performances, indigenous games, craft bazaar, music events, fashion, cycling, motor sporting, events, a kids carnival, floral galleria, food courts, film festival and a series of competitions in various activities.
