We did not know this till a friend was singing paeans to it. When we looked at their website, we were bowled over at this English bungalow so lovingly maintained. Eight villas on the offer. Will go there sometime!

Kodaikanal is crowded. Better avoided on long weekends. But Palani hills are beautiful. Think of a lovely palace amidst sprawling estate of coffee, nutmeg and virgin forest? Of the three properties by Parry group under “Sinnadorai” label, this is a a cute and private bungalow amidst rolling hills and tea gardens. Large, spacious and well done rooms with a private sit out. The smallest bungalow among the three is also their cutest.

Karwar, Karnataka – Devbagh Beach Resort

This is the most romantic beach you can go to apart from “The Elsewhere” in Goa. We were there many years ago when they had just started and keep returning. The few log huts in the resort are not luxurious. But will give you enough privacy. You go to Devbagh for its “Out of the world” beach. Spend time together watching sun go down the horizon between two islands in the sea. Go for a morning walk on unspoilt sand when sun comes up over the hills. This is bliss!
