Here is a detailed guide on planning your visit to the Flower Show at Lalbagh during the Republic Day week of 2026.

  1. Dates – The Republic Day Flower Show at Lalbagh 2026 is from 15 Jan 2026 till 26 Jan 26.
  2. Timings – The show opens at 7 AM and closes at 7 PM. Go for a nice walk/run in the morning. Carry cash if you plan to arrive at 7 AM, as the tickets will be sold near the glasshouse, not at the counters near the gates. Fortunately, they also have an option for digital payments. Visit the flower show when there is less of a crowd. Have breakfast in the MTR.
  3. Best time – Weekdays are ideal days to visit the flower show. Take a day off and take your family. They will love it. If you plan to visit on the weekend or on January 26 or weekends, be aware of facing heavy crowds and long queues.
  4. Use Metro – The best way to reach the Lalbagh Botanical Garden Flower Show is via the Metro Green Line. Get down at Lalbagh stationand walk 100 meters to West Gate.
  5. Getting down at all gates involves a bit of walking to Glasshouse, where the show is. Electric buggies are available for senior citizens/differently abled for a payment of Rs 100 per head, which will take you to Glass House.
  6. Parking – No vehicles are allowed to park inside the garden during the show dates. Car parking will be at Shantinagar Bus Stand (the closest entry point will be the North gate on Double Road) , the BBMP car park on JC Road (the closest entry gate is the main gate near MTR on Lalbagh Road) and next to HOPCOMS. (The closest entry gate is the North gate on Double Road) For two-wheelers at Al-Ameen College ( ENTRANCE FROM MAIN GATE) and HOPCOMS premises near Double Road Gate. Pedestrians can enter the flower show from any of the 4 gates.
  7. Tickets – The entry fee for adults is priced at INR. 80 on weekdays and Rs 100 on weekends and holidays. The entry fee for children is Rs 30. Schoolchildren wearing school uniforms will have free entry. UPI payments may not work due to technical glitches. Carry cash with you.
  8.  You can see the flower show from 7 AM. You need to buy tickets at Glass House for that. There is no need for a ticket to enter the garden at the gates before 9 AM. This is to help hundreds of people who come for a morning walk. After 9 AM, everyone who wants to enter Lalbagh during the flower show days has to buy tickets at counters near the gate. Carry correct change.
  9. You can buy plants and seeds at various stalls near the Glasshouse. The stall of Indo-American Hybrid Seeds has an excellent Orchid collection.

The Flower Show at Lalbagh is held twice a year on the occasion of Republic Day and Independence Day.

The Lalbagh Botanical Garden will be a riot of colours during these two months. Apart from the display of dazzling varieties of flowers inside the Glasshouse of Lalbagh Botanical Garden, you will be able to see varieties of flowers in different parts of the garden.
