Lepakshi is a small town famous for the Virabhadra temple built in the 15th century by Vijayanagara kings. It is a sprawling temple known for the largest monolith of Nandi and also the Nagalinga. The sculptures in the temple and paintings on the ceilings add to the beauty of this lovely temple. Vidurashwatha as the name suggest is the place which is known for the “Ashwatha” (peepul) tree planted by Vidura of Mahabharata. The fascinating array of Nagas welcomes you to this temple!

Travel Tips
a) Carry a good hat. Both places get hotter during the day.
b) Don’t forget to carry your camera. Lepakshi is a photographer’s delight.
c) Both are small villages. You may not get good restaurants to eat.
d) Drive safely on the highway. This highway is so good, it tempts you to over speed. Don’t do that.
